Oil Coolers

I want to get rid of the carb heating pipery and I don't particularly like the way the early boxy oil cooler looks (which has an extra take off that would have to be blanked).
Can any one tell me whether the other Ducati coolers from M900ie and newer monsters, 916, 748, etc (and event the curved one from the ST4) will work OK? They all seem to be about the same size as each other in terms of cooling ability, but are all a bit smaller looking than mine. Is it just that they got more efficient? Are the connectors for the oil lines a standard fitment?
The project budget is low a the moment so the more choices of model on ebay the better....Any advice much appreciated!

I've got a spare cooler and lines off a 900ie if you decide to go that route
