Hello from Cardiff

Hi,

I’ve just joined here and thought I’d say hello.

I’ve just bought my first Ducati, and went into the deep end with a Monster S4R.

I’ve always had Ducati’s in the family, my dad has owned at least one for the last 20 years and my brother also caught the bug.

Looking forward to starting my ownership with a bit of fun.

Welcome to the forum Adam. Probably only 10 miles from me using the short cut.

Thank you for the warm welcome all.

I’m still waiting to pick it up as it’s being prepped.

I’m really excited about owning my first Ducati, but hoping I don’t scare the living daylights out of myself

S4R is a bit of an animal, the throttle goes both ways so ..................... PIN IT ........ just as as soon as you feel comfortable.

I think it does for special journeys. I might try and sneak the monster on as I can push it along the pier

Hello and welcome. First Monster S4R? They dont get more hairy scary white knuckle ride than that! Rider aids? What are they, eh? I keep meaning to drop a 996 motor in mine if i come across one for even more midrange and scares.

Finally picked it up after a 5 hour round trip in today’s weather. Beautiful day, but freezing cold.

I can see why you guys said it was an animal. The power seems to be relentless, I can’t imagine what the newer one with the 1200 must be like.

It is a totally different power delivery compared to my brothers 916, it’s like it just wants to eat you alive every time you touch the throttle

I call my 1200r 'my ferret on acid!'
Mind you it's permanently in sport mode!!!

Enjoy the S4r it's a wolf in sheep's clothing!
