The relocator kit moves it from under the seat to the frame underneath in the same position but upside down. In order to do this you have to remove the crankcase expansion tank and pipework which aren't really needed anyway and frees up a lot of space. I have a PCIII mounted where the reg/rec used to be. I may at some point in the future extend the crankcase breather up away from just above the crankcase to reduce the risk of oil mist on my rear tyre, but its been fine so far. I think it will only blow oil out if I wheelie the bike and tip it up.

I think you'll be fine with a MOSFET reg/rec as they don't get hot like the original type do.

That sounds good I've seen that relocation on line and thought about it but opted for one inch to the rear of the stock location and that was to allow for space for the MOSFET plugs.

They wouldn't fit due to the shape of the expansion tank but it seems to be fine where it is it just clears the under seat storage box.

I think the battery has died. I just tried shorting out the starter solenoid with the ignition off and it turned over but very very slowly about a quarter to half of a turn then no more.
