They went t1ts up about a week or so ago, anyone who has reloaded their old one (like me) or changed their avatar since then (like Yerbs) should find their avatar viewable. All the others wil remain blurry and pixellated until they download a new 'un.

It seems to be the same with pictures that people downloaded on threads before the problem started.

The ones that work is because people have re-loaded their Avatar’s.

We have corrupt images because someone moved the database in the wrong manor.
They should have asked me for help....

Cannot get pics into post

Sorry to have to resurrect this thread but I am having great difficulty posting a pic, I have been at it for ages this morning.

Firstly I tried using the paperclip icon and even reduced the pic size down to 16kb and when pressed upload button it came up 'failed to upload.

I then tried to download from the web, I joined 2 image hosting sites Flickr and another, when I try and use pic from there all that comes up into the preview is a very small square with a white cross in a black box.

I thought it may be my desktop but it's the same on my tablet. It is possibly something simple I am missing or not doing, I do not have much hair and am even thinking of buying a wig just to pull some hair out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Is it a picture that you want to use as an Avatar, the one that appears in the left column?

A bit like this?

Hi Murray Mint,

Thanks

No, I was trying to post a pic or two in a post about my new Monster.

Cheers

So your trying to link out to an external site, i believe this is the only way to do it.

If you look at the image i posted, its hosted on my own web server at home, (http://yarrum.co.uk/monster/myavatar.png)

Some hosting sites like Flickr don't allow direct links to the content.

If the files aren't too big ill host them for you.

I appreciate the offer, the thing is I have posted pictures before, probably from the 'paper clip' icon, so I must be doing something different or wrong.

I'm going to come right out of the site and shut down and see if I can get up and running again.

What would you suggest a decent hosting site would be, remembering I'm not too clever at this computer wizardry

I use www.postimages.org/signup.

Once you've uploaded your picture, click on the 'share' icon and select the 'hotlink for forums' address, copy it and paste it into your post.

If you preview the post before submitting it, the picture will appear in the preview if you've done it correctly.
