My last connection with 'Guzzi was on a trip down to Mugello on my 1050 ST, we were booked to have an overnight on Lake Como after a trip through the Alps and thought a factory visit would be interesting. Couldn't believe the number of bikes on the road but it turned out to be National Day and a public holiday.....pitched up at the factory gates, all locked up, gateman suggested returning an other time! After 1200 miles from Glasgow I was just a little bit miffed.
Pity, cos the museum is supposed to be stuffed full of exotica. To finish a sad tale, 10 minutes after rolling up to Mugello VR46 did a somersault and broke his leg....bummer. Great trip though and doing Mugello for the third time this year....its a crazy "must do" for race fans. |
