Strange! I enquired with Nitron in March 2018 about an R3 shock for my 2006 ducati monster S2R 1000 and was told (by Alex Kernahan of the Nitron Sales Team)

"The part code for the shock you need is NTBKD05RH which is the same as the Ducati Monster"

I didn't go ahead in the end as the lead times were not going to work for me (they'd moved factory and had something of a backlog).

So they were doing an R3 shock filment for the S2R 1000 at least as recently as 2 years ago...

I hope that helps. Good luck!

I can’t offer any more advice than the others have already given other than it might be worth an email addressed for the attention of ‘Olli’ because he really sorted the service on my Nitron.

This is it at ten years old returned and looking like new:

Someone should have a word with their sales people. You can buy one from them but if its wrong you can't have your money back, really. Personally I don't care how good their kit is, If I was told that, I would go elsewhere.

Cheers Flip

On another note, if I were to fit the shock myself (if it's easy enough) would you use the Abba stand on its own or the Abba and a rear paddock stand?

You'll want something that lets you lift the swingarm and rear wheel, either chocks, a stand or a helper. You'll probably find it too heavy to lift with one hand while fitting the shock with the other and holding bolts in your teeth ;-)
Abba stand should work nicely to hold most of the bike up. I usually use a pair of axle stands under my rearsets, although they're the solid type, it won't work with folding footrests unless you swap their sides first so they fold the other way.

I just used an Abba stand to do the shock and the forks... you'll need a long allen key socket to get into the hole in the swing arm though
