engine oil - Shell Advance only

Hi

For the Monster 821, is it strictly a case of only using Shell Advance?

Got some Petronas Syntium Moto 4SX (10W-40) left at home - wondering if this can be used or it's a big No-No?

Thanks,
Brett

As long as it's a motorcycle oil designed for wet clutches it should be ok.
You might want to consider Advance only if you're still under warranty though.

I would use any motorcycle specific semi synthetic or fully synthetic oil of the correct viscosity, I see the Shell Advance link as purely marketing, no technical reason for it as far as I am aware?
