Currently trying to get my biking life off the ground here post brexit (swapping my driving licence sorting my bike etc, not to mention my permanent residency here... not very straightforward...) but I’m hoping to get everything sorted this year and maybe even get my M600 out of UK storage and over here and finally get it done up/back in the road if I ever get some garage facilities for fettling/am sure I’m safe to stay in Belgium long term... So a decent local independent Ducati shop is good to know. I know bikers out here from a friendly casual group (Brussels cafe racers) but only a couple of Ducati riders amongst them... And a while ago on my first stint over here I used to be a member of Monster Owners Belgium, so I’ve potentially got some contacts just need to give the biking life a bit of priority in my mountain of admin... |

I can't find the part number for the preload bracket but any Öhlins dealer should be able to get you one. Alternatively, the bracket is only a simple flat shape so you could easily fabricate one yourself out of 3mm aluminium plate and save a few quid.
The rubber mounts are 00230-01 (X2) and I think are about £15, including hose clips. There are alternatives available - something like this might do the job. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Prothane-...y/182988800918 |

I wonder if you could make a rubber tree tie buffer work?

Different bike model I know but my Ohlins shock was supplied with the rubber frame mounts for the reservoir and although I fitted it to the frame (just above the clutch), I used rubber-lined 'P' clips instead as they fit better, allowed me to tuck the reservoir into the frame a little and are more secure and IMO neater.
I was never happy with the look so made a bracket to fit it under the rear end, just in front of the rear wheel (as per 'S' models I believe) for which I made a mounting bracket but still used the 'P' clips (would have been better with a shorter hose BTW). Maybe 'P' clips could work in this setup?

If you’re getting it serviced (at an Ohlins specialist) you may be able to get a different hose fitted at the same time

That is my plan, as and when it is serviced. The long hose fits but it's not the neatest solution, can't imagine a shorter hose costs much but it'd lose all the gas if I changed it so I'll let K-Tech do it when the time comes.

I got my long hose replaced by ohlins guys in Edenbridge. I think it was reasonable but obviously had to be regassed. It sits neatly under the seat where the bracket was designed for. You dont even know the remote is there.

Thanks for tip Blah Blah Luddite cheers for part number good to know and yes I’m hoping bracket is readily available/not too pricy though as you say would not be too hard to get one fabricated if needs be. Gaza, tree tie might be a cheap option, nice idea. Dukedesmo - P clips do look a decent option giving a slightly different mounting, nice idea. I like the tucked away idea under the seat, like you I’d prefer not to have it alongside the engine, but more neatly tucked away under/around the rear. Lovely bike by the way! Slob - yeah especially if the hoses need changing anyway with the refurb (which they may well do, not in the best condition from what I can see) then makes sense to get them tailored to allow preferred neat fitting location... Thanks Albie as shock will need regassing anyway as part of strip/refurb, sounds like worth sorting bespoke hose lengths at same time... Anyway thanks all for the collective help and wisdom UKMOC rules! |
