Shorter mirror bolts....?

I decided to get myself some bar end mirrors, went and removed the standard ones and replace the bolts so that the reservoirs stay on and noticed that the bolts are now too long - can anyone recommend where to get some replacement shorter bolts (including the left hand thread one)??!! I'd rather not cut them down in case I want to go back to standard. Oh, and it's a 2016 1200S...

Any supplier of threaded fasteners should be able to supply the right handed bolt but the left hander might be more tricky.
Either way, you'll need to specify the thread diameter and also its pitch.
Most metric threads are a std pitch though (usually from the "coarse" series but there is also a "fine" series and a few "specials"). I suspect you'll need the std (coarse) pitch.
I get mine from "All Screwed Up", Leicester.

Another way might be to just use some washers to take up the excess thread on the std bolts.
Or for a slightly neater job, get some spacers made up instead of using washers.
Black nylon ones would look neat and not rust.

ps. this was written without having actually studied the particular arrangement on the 1200s.
I assume its the normal set-up but a pic would clarify.

Thanks Utopia - I was thinking about something to take up the slack like you suggest, but then I found these: https://www.designcorse.com/products...crew-plugs-kit

... or flip the bracket upside down.

EDIT: never mind - I didn't know you have the reservoirs there.

Have a look on the desmoworld website because they make some nice billet plugs for the mirror threaded holes...

No problem Stuart but be warned Chris (mr desmoworld) is a very clever chap and makes some beautiful billet parts that will soon start to empty your wallet.

I went with plugs on mine originally, then I went one better and I just replaced the clamps for the same but from a model without mirrors on the bars. So maybe something with fairing mirrors that uses the same master cyclinders.

Good shout Darren, I think they might be the same clamps as on the Panigale...

Yea most likely the problem I had sourcing some was that they were no longer in production 916/996 etc but I got some eventually. You should have no problem with the current Ducati models but they will probably be cheaper from Aprilia or similar.
