Foot rest lowering

I have some nice VARIO footrest lowering parts which fit my monster 750 but the bike I really need to lower by 25mm is the 750ss ,, sadly it used 8mm pins and the footrests on the monster are the 6mm type pins

looked at drilling them out from 6 to 8mm but that wont work the tabs will flop down at 15dg also they are very expensive so dont want to wreck them

another idea from Desmo Times in USA as made for ST models I had was to make some stainless trapezoid brackets to lower the whole of the footrest aluminium bracket from the frame mount and that would work fine on the gear lever side by up to 30mm but on the brake side there is no clearance from bottom of brake lever to exhaust pipe ....

been trying to find footrest lowering kit for 750/900ss models with no luck I am 61 now and its killing my hips scrunching up riding the 750ss but I love it so much ,, and the M750 will be ''houre's de combat'' for many months ,, need a solution ,, wish i had some spare cash for another bike but alas the dreams of new Enfield 650 interceptor or 2019 Honda VFR 800 are just dreams at present

did 170miles on it yesterday glorious fun ....but im paying for it today

My Monster rearsets are not rear set enough, also they are too high. I lowered and moved them back by making some adaptor plates using some aluminium plate drilled to fit the frame and with threaded holes for the rearsets with a quick splash of black paint.

Quite simple to make and only cost me my time as I had the materials...
