Non- Monster but will swap..
I have a Vespa 1971, restored around 2005 and only had light use since then. I'm looking to sell my Vespa and buy a Monster or swap for the right one. Preferably mid sized engine.
The Vespa is reliable with all the chrome and other mods necessary with nothing much else to spend on it. It's not rusty and 9 years after restoration still very tidy. Mot is short, think it might be April? but will get this re-done (there's not much to test on these age scooters). Tax is free of course, paintwork is very tidy and a good high gloss and smooth finish which has lasted well. Has full fog lights on the front rack plus airhorns and wiring has been done to support a battery for these gadgets (which isn't there). I run it batteryless. I have lots of paperwork including the restoration purchase reciept. It is Piaggio with italian serial numbers, the chrome is good quality not the usual stuff that rusts. Located Portsmouth Cost £2500 - £100 Monster forum discount My situation: I've lost interest in the scooter now. I've sold my Honda VFR recently and was going to use that money for a monster, but really need an all weather bike, so buying a cbr for that purpose, then selling the Vespa to fund the Monster and it'd give me time to find a nice one. There's pics and a video taken on Sunday here http://s979.photobucket.com/user/jon...lideshow/Vespa I appreciate this is a Monster forum and if the consensus is the advert shouldn't be here then happy to delete it. |

If it had an aerial with a fox tail on the top and came with a Parker jacket I'd want it

I think whatever it takes to get yourself a Monster is fair play on here.
Scooters always made me laugh, but someone somewhere will bite your arm off for it...Good luck with the sale. |

Yeah got to love a little Vespa- I have one tucked in the garage currently in a state of on-going refreshment......Ducati electrics don't you know so they definitely count in my book.

I used to have a 1965 model.
CRY 278 C .... funny how they stick in the memory. It was like a Sportique, but crammed with extra chrome doodads. No spotlights, but a fair few mirrors. It was red. A mate "borrowed" it one evening and wrecked it. I later noticed that the upper rear shock mount appeared to have been detached completely from the bodywork for some time, and was merely lodged in a tight corner !!! (I kept quiet about that though). The insurance money plus a bit was enough for a 1968 YR3 350 Yamaha, and I was thus smitten with the biking bug for life. THA 482 G ....in case you're wondering. It took me three decades to get from a vespa to a monster, so you'll be doing infinitely better than I did. Nice of you to say, and not that its my call at all, but advertise away as far as I'm concerned.........its in a good cause. |

I'm after a Vespa for my Daughter would have been ideal if it wasn't covered in all that chrome, be a much nicer scoot if put back to original
Still got potential though, are the targets paint? or Sticker and would you consider selling without all the extra's

You can have it for less without, the writing and targets are just stickers.
It did have a dozen mirrors too but I took them off. Surprisingly it manages 60 mph with all the decorations. I would say these scooters do take getting used to, especially the older models with tricky gear changes. It can confuse girlies. having said that I use it all the time in good weather, its very reliable. |
