Hangman's noose ?

The tool kit with my M900 comes with a short ( 15cms) length of cable with a noose at each end. I think it is standard tool kit contents as I've seen others so what is it for ? My best guess is that it is a helmet cable but if it is I don't know how to use it. Any ideas ?

Yes on the seat latch when seat removed is a stand up pin. Idea is loop through helmet and fit around pin. Plonk seat on and helmet sits down side of bike moderately secured.

Thanks Albie. Makes sense now you have described it.
