M900 with a Brazilian twist

No belt covers, mudguards or clutch cover, I know, but nevertheless, I quite like the look of this custom M900 from Brazil.

I know - and a pair of polished Pantah style covers would compliment that engine a treat.

(Finned exhaust clamp and valve covers included for Mr Gazza's benefit!)

Looks great......................except when people customise monsters they often create that hard straight line running from the headstock to the back of the seat (i.e. under the tank/seat), which in my eyes is totally alien to the great lines of a Monster. I think the original Monster frame is simply one of the most elegant frames ever, and although this style of custom does show more of the frame aesthetically the strong horizontal line detracts from the original engineering elegance.

There is a nice story about Fallingwater a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright(FLW), visually the crux of the design was the exploitation of the counter-leaver design to create extended overhangs. However the building inspector didn't believe that it was actually going to stand up, so insisted on a support wall being constructed under one of the main overhangs which infuriated FLW of course. So he got the builder to build the wall leaving a gape along the top, i.e. making the wall totally functionless. Anyway my overly convoluted point is visually the the Horizontal line (referred to two pages ago) visually detracts from the engineer integrity in the same way that the supporting wall would have from the building.

If anyone understands what I'm trying to explain much less agrees with my thinking I will be some what amazed, you are of course welcome to simply right it off as total "B......t" Bitza

I like it, but without any mudguards it wouldn't look like that too long in the UK.

Plus that seat? No one is going to ride very long or far on that!

But where are the cup-holders if you only want to pose outside the local coffee bar?

Ah, but you can always stuff your bag of chips under the tank to keep 'em warm!

Overall I like the look but wouldn’t want to own/ride it for long.

Loads of room in the rear seat hump for the new Ducati Beard trimmer...

I think the idea is that it looks great, not that it is in anyway practical. You know, like art, sculpture, paintings, that kinda schizz. Complaining that it doesn't have practicality is like saying 'too many notes'.

Well could have a row of 6 inch chrome polished nails sticking up under the seat which might look good from an 'arty sculpture' perspective but it still wouldn't make me want to ride it any more or less. There are 2 schools I think the 'art for art sake design school' and the practical design school which includes 'art aspects' but includes 'ergonomics' too, I think that is an important design concept that is often overlooked and lost on most specials like the one above which seem to concentrate on for example (it must have an Imola tank/seat unit and everything else just has to look nice kinda approach).
