over filled oil?

I'm off to the NW200 tomorrow so have today for any final prepping for the bike etc.
Need a sanity check as I think I've over filled the oil on my 1100S.

Did a service the other week, drained oil etc and refilled oil to between the lines on the sight glass. Turned the engine over a few times and filled back to the level.
Ran the engine briefly to make sure oil was pumped all round the motor and left to settle, and then topped up to between the lines.

Went a run, all good, no issues.

Left for a few days and the oil level (cold) is showing above the 2 lines on the sight glass - have I over done it? (my gut says I have!)

You haven’t checked it on side stand originally and then last time with bike upright have you?
If in doubt, just drain a bit into a clean tub.

I would say you neen to take some oil out. Some bikes will not notice but some will blow excess oil out the breather and into the air box or back tyre. I dont know enough about Ducati specifically (still learning myself) but I do know its not good on some bikes, I wouldnt take the chance. Maybe someone with better specific knowledge will chime in.

Measured on the level, sitting on paddock stands. Will try to drain a wee bit out and see.

You don't say if the level is up out of sight or that the bulls eye is full in other words. If it's above the lines but still in sight in the bullseye I wouldn't worry about it.

Can't see it causing a problem unless it's massively overfull - and from your description of how you filled it, it shouldn't be.

If it really is a little over it'll probably blow it out the breather anyway.
