900SS Project wanted

As I know a few of you guys have a few old bikes around I thought I'd put this on here as well as the more general Ducati Forum

My son and I are looking for a ‘restoration/modification ready’ Carburated 900SS as our next project.
We have a lightly modified Superlight/Endurance racer look in mind.

We’ve bid on a few on Ebay, but just do not have the funds to secure what have all been complete, basically good to go bikes.

Engine condition is completely immaterial as we’re finishing off the build of a bitsa 900/962 engine at the moment.

Ideally it would be a complete bike with a blown or otherwise damaged engine, but anything incomplete at the right price would be considered, as would a pile of parts to give us a really good start.

We have a strict top budget for the purchase of £1500, but I see that as a complete bike, maybe a little cosmetically challenged with a damaged non running engine, or a better bike cosmetically with an engine too badly damaged to repair.

A 600 or 750 that we could bring up to spec with 900 parts could be an option.

We really want to use the engine we’re building instead of being tempted to stick it in my 900 Monster.

So, what’s everybody got lurking under an sheet in the back of their garage that they've not touched in years?
