front wheel
Hi,
I'm looking for a brembo black front wheel for my 2002 monster m600. Do you know if it is the same as other monsters and other ducati models (i.e. 748, 916, 996,998)? Thanks a lot |

I think you'll find all Monster wheels will fit (that is the later version with the thicker axle), but not sure the superbike ones will - the hub spacing may be different as I believe the discs have a different offset...
If you're interested I have a pair of mirror polished Brembo 3 spoke wheels from my M620 for sale - 3.5 inch front, 4.5 inch rear in excellent condition, fitted with part worn Pirello Diablos 120/70 and 160/60... looking for £300 the pair... xxx |

Thanks for replying, but I spoke to a ducati dealer and he said that the only wheels which fit a 2001 M600 are the ones for M600, M750, M900 in the 2000, 2001 years. Even if most ducatis use brembo 3.5 x 17 there seems to be differences in spindles or similar problems

That could be case, but as far as I am aware, all the Monsters from around 1999 onwards had the thicker axles of the current range (the earler bikes had a thinner axle spindle) when they changed the forks... what size is your front wheel nut? if it's 28mm, then the later wheels will fit...

I have 998 forks (from a 2001 998) with a '98 900 ie ss front wheel and spindle in my monster special - into which I have also put my wheel off the DD bike (2001 M600) to run a tyre in into them! So they do interchange between some models.............. |

Thanks all
I went for the dealer advice. I'm buying a wheel off him for 180 pounds (100 the wheel + 80 to spray it black). I feel too little technically competent and new to ducatis to risk buying wheels I'm not 100% sure they will fit. The dealer has been trustworthy so far (Snell motorcycle from Alton).
By the way I live in central London, do you reccomend any good (quality, price) ducati mechanics in central london? (I live near metropolis but not sure they are the best value for money). |

Rosso Corse is an independent Ducati specialst near Bethnal Green, they're really good for spares and repairs, know exactly what they're doing and they don't charge silly money. http://www.rossocorse.co.uk/
