1100 evo DP ECU + Termis - Baffles or no baffles?

Good afternoon all,

As per the title really, but from a performance\efficiency perspective (rather than anyone's preference - including mine), is the DP ECU setup for Termis with baffles in or out? This is for a 2013 bike, if it makes any difference.

Sound wise, it's pretty damn loud unbaffled. The pops and bangs on the overrun are amusing but I wonder if, in certain situations, I might run the bike with them in, and I don't really want to do that if the ECU is 'learning' or whatever.

Or conversely, does the ECU even care?! The fuelling seems pretty spot on so far (and it's not my first Monster so I'm familiar with their 'ways').

I'm also considering these curious little half-baffle\fake baffle things from Desmoworld: https://www.desmoworld.com/desmoworl...se-only-53?c=4 because the sound with the baffles in is a little '125y' for my liking. It will depend (partly) on the answer to the question above though...

Any advice appreciated.

The db killers that desmoworld sell are machined from billet and fit, look and sound great.

Yes, but the question was what type of silencing is the ECU expecting for its mapping to be right?

Yes, that really is the question to be fair. I do appreciate the feedback on how it looks though.

I've since found a couple of other threads relating to Termi baffles (including the Desmoworld ones) but nothing has really answered it yet.

Looks and sound wise, yeah the Desmo ones 'sound' like a good compromise between baffled and unbaffled. I don't really want to start cutting baffles etc. even if that can be reversed.

Delivered with two options means (?) that both are ok.

I think we always have to dig a little to understand these issues. It's not an exact science, so there is give and take all the way. Two cylinders, high compression, air cooled, close-to-race-tune mixed with 'damaging' emissions limitations all contribute to problematic mapping/tuning.

When mine was run up on the Rexer with no baffles and black carbon Termis not for road use stamped on them it ran lean on fuel air mix.
The set up on the DP ECU is generic eg best guess for the model range.
Basically fit it run it then get a remap.

So I run a DP ECU which has been re-mapped and the AFR corrected. With the baffles fitted (103db @ 1m) combined with the open dry clutch is quite loud enough especially compared to more moden bikes.

The DP maps are always a compromise IMHO from my experience with my S4, I have found they are still too lean at around 3000rpm so make 30mph riding at bit rough and worse tham the standard ECU in that respect (although both are just as bad) Custom map is the way to go. I'm currently running the DP ECU with a custom PCIII map on top, mapped from actual Dyno runs with the bike and it is now much better.

Thats with a full Termi spaghetti system on the S4 which is the spec says gives 10% more power everywhere which it does and with the re-map it runs really well.

Get the ECU Rexxer flashed, makes a huge difference, I run mine with out the DB killers and have the carbon termi's.
