I have alloy intakes, three sets of pulleys, lightened flywheel and gears.

Guess no one wants to put their prices up here which is fair enough - I was only curious as my first engine is now going to be a stock 900ie lump to get me on the road.

I am sure Mark will tell you what he charges, I honestly don't know if his costs have gone up so I won't quote what I paid.

Nearly 2 months later I have an update on my Monster project.

The engine (ST2) as planned received a coat of prime etcher and then a couple of coats of lacquer.

It is quite shiny but in the red frame the grey looks quite nice.

It was then time to drag it all together to start to mock up what needs cutting and what needs welding on.

Once it was in it was a matter of getting all the hoses and loom in place. The clutch housing is in the process of getting trimmed to loose a little more weight.

Another day of messing about with the Monster, I'm trying to get it to Powder Coat before Crimbo.

Radiator mounts tacked on:

I knew that getting the top intake to fit would be a mare so I have decided to do a bit of cutting and welding next weekend to solve the problem.

The lack of room:

So the bar that the battery box fits to will be trimmed to allow the intake to fit, I will be using custom (ultra-short) alloy intakes.

I will then be welding in an X using some tubed steel to keep the rigidity:

Roll on next weekend.

Its been two weeks since I have worked on the Monster but I managed to do some work today.

Chopped the frame to fit the alloy-intakes:

The new bit for tacking in:

Only a little bit of work done on the project today.

Stainless steel headers and Mivv exhausts mounted:

Carbon 1mm thick under seat tray mounted for the ECU:

Some cutting of the tool tray under the seat and everything will fit nicely:

You're solving all the problems and it's turning into a neat, well thought out bike.

It looks obvious that you won't be using an airbox. It seems to me that there is now an opportunity to mount the battery below your new "X" brace ( A sealed gel type, laid down.)
With your ECU very nicely mounted under the seat, that leaves the under tank cavity competely empty.
I'm not sure what sort of tank you will be using, but if it's a Monster one, then it would be possible to do something I have always wanted to do.....Blank off the cavity with a welded in plate to dramatically increase the capacity.

The cavity would need large holes drilled above the plate so that it filled and flowed, but it would remain in place to act as a baffle and still carry the pump and filter.

Of course I have no idea how you will be using this bike, so I don't know if extra range would be any advantage to you...Personally I wouldn't be able to resist it...
