Things to do with a spare engine...
There was a mention in this week's MCN of Walt Siegl Motorcycles, who are doing interesting things with air-cooled, two-valve lumps. I had a look on their website http://waltsiegl.com/motorcycles/ and their output is pretty impressive. I certainly wouldn't complain if I found any of these three under my tree next week!
Nice, clean simplicity. DS motor. Shades of an old '75 900 SS here, I think. Very reminiscent of the Cagiva Elefant, again with a DS motor. The website claims a 154kg kerb weight and with 21"/17" wheels, it should have some genuine off-road ability. It'd certainly be fun to try anyway. |

Definitely go for either of the first two, I'd need a stool to get on the bottom one though!

Me too - and a mattress to land on wherever I decided to stop!

That first one is absolutely beautiful. The chair doesn't look very comfy though. And the oil cooler pipe gets in the way a little bit on the clutch side, IMO...
SO many things to look at on this bike though. It's machines like this that leave me rather in awe of people's imagination and creativity. |

It surprises me that Ducati haven’t made an update on the Elefant: the Pike’s Peak Multi-strudel isn’t quite the same thing?

The first two are lovely, but the third one looks almost exactly like the image I have in my head of a future project involving an early Multistrada 1000

Lovely bikes!

But if it has already gone, the black one would also be most welcome in my garage. They both look lovely and if they are as light as mentioned earlier then they should go very nicely too. Dear Santa ....... Martin |

I like bits of the top two, but the price of these would always push me to do my own.
My first attempt at a build is still running and was only £1350 all in: My spare 900 SS engine has been waiting for me to finish this project, an ST2 frame and wheels combined with other random bits: It is all about building what you want in your budget. Yorkie
