I had no idea. RIP big man. I've seen them quite a few times, always a great gig.

I worked in Brixton in the early nougties, I found a huge plywood dayglo afro skull thing out the back of the warehouse and commented to Jason the manager it looked 'a bit Alabama 3', he showed me his picture, wearing a squeezebox, on the cover of Exile on Coldharbour Lane! Pete (bongos) used to to work in the warehouse from time to time too. I'd only bought the CD because I heard the Sopranos theme. Always more of a show than a gig.

Just back from visiting the parents and family folks in Australia .. discovered King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizzard while getting “relaxed” with my brother..
... not my usual fare but their Album - Quarters - is stuck on my playlist at moment. Last edited by SteveG; 13-06-2019 at 09:49 PM.. |

Saw them at Guildford with around 150 people. I've done a lot of gigs but that was up there with the best. The following was taken with my own not-so-fair hand https://youtu.be/QnxEU8llI8A |

Reading this thread makes me feel incredibly uncool, as I haven't even heard of half the bands you guys have mentioned!? It just sounds like a bunch of random words put together...

Personally I don't care if folk don't like GoT but some guitarists and musicians do.

If you had to pick one Hawkwind album Jerry what would it be mine is the 1975 masterpiece Warrior on the edge of time absolutely timeless, you must have some good stories being a roadie for Hawkwind lol definitely in my top five favourite bands from the early days to the present they have kind of evolved. |
