I also fitted the suicide stand after painting it black as silver finish was the later versions. Very luckily I managed to undo that bolt. Bit of copperslip on it now.
![]() Fitted the second of my homemade copy cable guides to the underneath of engine case for the wiring to the sidestand switch. Not many bikes have it but its on the diagram. ![]() Fitted tea tray back with these new longer bolts just to see if I could live with them. Fitted a 6mm washer to give the diameter but they don't float my boat and I still keep searching the net for something similar but they all come too short at 20mm long or the small head and I need 30mm. ![]() Tank hinge is now fitted new nylon bushes ready for tank to come home.. ![]() Here is another ask. Has anyone got a long breather hose from airbox to oil catch container they don't need. someone who may be running different carbs etc. Mine is in one piece and usable but has a black bandage around one end where it was split. |

Got myself a couple of gifted items today from Blueprintz George. Sent me down a nice condition oil breather catch tank with no grazes and a dash trim the alloy part which is borderline better colour black. Trouble is looking at my speedo and idiot lights it shows them up a bit. Never really looked close up at them but they are fine to use. I have an annoying digit not clicked round properly the 5 of the 25000 ish one. Hoping that may sort when used.
Been busy locking up stuff on the brake and clutch lines and oil lines. I actually ran out of copper washers @30 so had to do another order. There are needed for a full new on the bike at least 38 standard 10mm ones plus some 8mm on oil lines and then some alloy ones on the hoses and then the carb manifolds small 5mm and 6mm ones. Didn't manage to get to pick up tea tray bolts today but I got delivery of my next possible fix and that I got 5 of each M8 x 40mm stainless bolts and 10 M8 x 50mm steel ones to reduce the thread down on a lathe or file it round to 6mm diameter then I can die it down to M6 and trim to length. They are just slightly under the head diameter by 1mm but use the same 5mm allen key and will look fine. I went for the stainless firstly because can be used straight away and thought I might get the steel ones done and get replated some time later if I get more work done on another bike build so they match original. Always up for trying to replicate. Hermes still not delivered my clutch slave and hope that don't go missing as they tried to deliver on Monday saying being back Tuesday. no show then no card through the door either. Swing arm has reached first destination and will be flying over here next few days. Have emailed HM racing about sorting out my ohlins so will be without a rear shock for a while so may as well leave swing arm off until then. I was thinking about getting a stock one in the meantime but no real point. Hoping to get carbs all on tomorrow and oil lines all tightened up. |

Hermes have a habit of putting stuff in your green bin and then not leaving a card to tell you. I think a few bits of mine have gone that way when the bin was emptied!

I see the shouty 'BRAND NEW 1993 DUCATI MONSTER M900 NEVER RIDDEN' is still available on eBay.:

It really should be on that other bolt in my view but the bracket is the same as the other one size wise so is too wide. Now removed it as cable should run up around casing at the angle. I may make a narrower one but for now removed as don't really need tbh.

Guess what another Hermes parcel delivered but not delivered today by same driver. Same no phone number but DHL delivered my swingarm to neighbour today. Now this parcel could be a pair of indicators worth £20.
Anyhow my swingarm came today and yes its much better and just need a 1.8mm shim washer if anyone has one not required before I phone Moto Rapido. The gap is more on this one compared to mine annoyingly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also Richard (350tts ) turned some bolts for me to use later on tea tray after I get plated later. ![]() ![]() And gave me a better breather tube ![]() |

Ok so very small progress but am getting it buttoned back up. I got all the throttle cables done tonight and chokes on with the carb air tubes too. My biggest issue is the airbox. Something is not quite right but I know it fits as was on there. I am after getting an early one to match the lid but somehow my bike has some mismatched parts. The airbox top is 1990 the bottom is 1999. Now I have tried looking on ebay and they look the same just the elephant logo possibly but for my life I cannot squeeze that bottom in the hole.
There is either a simple solution or something wrong with mine. Question How does it go back in as it came out. Are the carbs loose or clamped to the manifolds Do you fit the carbs to the air box then lower on to the manifolds |
