I swear by Pirelli Diablos and so do many others here - The Fast One has a deal at the moment - £145 or so for the pair including delivery.

I favour Pirelli Diablo Corsas personally, you need a 180 on the rear though as they don't do a 170, but they're a fairly narrow profile so handling not affected. Standard Diablos work well too, I like the Corsas cos I enjoy trackdays as well. Another option is the Michelin Pilot Power, had excellent reviews, avoid the Pilot Sports though.
Oh, and welcome!

I have two bikes and three bins full of dog food in mine. And a washer and a dryer. I think I might have the frame on the washer re-powdercoated as it is a bit old now.
