Well done Morag and good luck with the knee. As Snips and Will have said you're in our area so we will have to get us all out for a ride when you're sorted. Keep us posted as to how things are going.

Well done Morag.

I had my knee replaced 18 months ago - it was the best move I ever did!

It won't be too long before you are back on the bike, but it will feel like a lifetime - my consultant made me wait 3 months!
Let us know how you get on.

Soooooo many thanks for all your congrats...

Rode to work this morning, including the gravel farm track! So feeling pleased as punch.

I passed an instructor this morning with some pre-test bikers, he gave me the 'nod' I just giggled out loud in my helmet that was me just a week ago, small things and all that!

Thrilled your knee replacement has been successful. Can you give me any advice for recovery or...?

It obviously bends enought to ride a Monster - was worried about this!

Thanks, wish I had a few more weeks to ride. Might come along to meet for a coffee on one of your routes, when I can drive again (automatic thankfully) will keep you posted...
Did I meet you at the BMF on the Duati owners club the other weekend?

I had no problems riding the Monster, but did struggle to bend my knee enough to ride a sportsbike straightaway - no problems with that now though.
I have almost as much movement in my replacement knee as in the other one, but mine was just uni-compartmental ( half knee) so I am not sure how different it will be with the full knee.
The best advice I can give you is to make sure you do all your physio - and some! Take notice of what the consultant says, and don't overdo it to start with.
It's a shame you are going to miss the summer riding your bike!

Take care, and make sure you give us regular updates.

Anne

Hi Morag
Well done! And just in time too before the legislation changes. I passed in November so I still have that euphoric and slightly smug feeling everyday! Good luck with the surgery, I'm wincing at the thought!
Justin.

Hi Justin

I know, I was a touch worried but I passed, so now I can just enjoy. Fingers crossed for nice weather this weekend!
Hope you enjoy your first Ducati summer, not that I'm jealous or anything! Maybe I should get some ducati stickers for my crutches...

Hi Anne

Thanks, I'll take it easy for sure. I had major knee surgery two years ago and I came out of hospital to early. This time should be better because I can at least put weight through it. I was non weight bearing for 3 months last time, so had very strong shoulders by the end of it!!
So glad you had no problems riding the Monster again, guess the riding position for your sportsbike is much more 'compact'.
Has it releived all your pain? Is there anything you can't do?

Enjoy your summer riding, I'll keep my fingers crossed for SUNSHINE for you all.

Morag
