For such a high cost/performance motorcycle the standard screen on the MkII is pretty damn poor. Little more than a styling exercise really. It does look good though and sets the bike apart but it's pretty crap otherwise.

I get your point but the Italian race series started it all (the S4 Challenge some years later presumably used up the surplus stock) in a kind of supermoto style race on which looked like go-kart tracks.

Either way when the early bikes’ appeared with fairings around ‘96/97 they were certainly more solidly mounted than the mk2 versions.
