key in the ignition.. do they all do this ?
when the engine is runing, i can take the key out of the ignition without the engine cutting off.
This is a new addition to my short biking experience. but do they all do that ? Is it safe to ride the bike with the keys in your pocket ? ... monsters.. they'll never fail to amaze me ! |

You shouldn't be able to pull the key out when the lock is in the "on" position. This sometimes happens when the lock gets worn.

It's not been stolen at some point or had some light fingered pondscum give it a go once, has it?

I would say the lock & key is just a bit worn. My old FS1E could be started with a lolly stick.....

...it'd probably run faster with it as well. Think of the weight saving. Did you use unleaded for the same reason?

I discovered this particular quirk on my monster too and no it should do it. But it does have it's uses, removing that disc-lock in the dark is no longer a problem.
At least a plain old screwdriver failed to turn the ignition  |
