Ohlins DU6460
I purchased this Ohlins shock to try and make it work on my M1000, but actually the only option I'd have with the reservoir position would require me to remove the crankcase breather system and replace it with a simple filter, which I'm not prepared to do.
It's originally intended for a Hypermotard, and has the 295mm eye to eye centres, so not suitable for all machines. Both Eyes are 10mm ID. The spring on it is a little soft for somebody my size: Ohlins 19 Everybody else 70 N/mm But I'd have changed it if I was going to use it. With the spring off the action is lovely and smooth both in and out. Both the adjusters move freely with satisfying clicks, and from a bench test with no spring have a marked effect on how much effort it takes to compress, and the time it takes to recover itself to fully extended. The spring platforms also move freely. It does have a few marks etc, please see the pictures, and is not not in perfect aesthetic condition. I'm hoping for £350 collected from Clanfield, Hants, which looks like the lower end of what an Ohlins shock sells for on EBAY. Or I can post it fully insured within the usual UK limits for another £15.

I'd need to check if it would fit my S4R, assuming it's the right length or maybe a bit taller I can live with.
