Does anyone know why they call them triple clamps?
I would think a triple clamp refers to those bottom yokes with deep clamping areas and 3 bolts used for fork leg clamping. |

triple trees, rather than clamps was quite a common expression in the us
the germans call them gabelbruck which literally translates as forkbridge |

Because they clamp 3 times.

Because it clamps three items via the top and bottom clamps..ie two fork legs and the steering stem......
