vibration , bad handling , loose engine mounts
Last few days done about 300 miles on M750 but its vibrating badly and handling is crummy
found that the engine bolts through frame are loose ,, when i assembled the bike 2 years ago I torqued them as per Ducati workshop manual 48nm Going to tightrn them up again ???

Nylocs on the engine mount bolts, do you mean ?
If so then I guess, just as the application of recommended grease to threads can be essential to achieve the correct tightening of any threaded components (by reducing friction) the use of nylocs could have the opposite effect (by increasing friction). In other words, despite the recommended torque being applied when you rebuilt the bike two years ago, some of that torque would have been used in overcoming the friction in the nyloc so the correct tensile loading of the bolts may not have been achieved. I might be inclined to grip a bolt of the same size in a vice and measure the torque required to start a nyloc nut moving on the threads ... and then add that to the torque recommended for the engine bolts. |

also in two years since the build you should have done two or three services, during which a major fastener check is mandated
