S4RS system upgrade
Hi,
I'm looking too change the standard system on mine. I have a feeling there is something quirky with the S4RS and its different to other Ducatis I've changed over the years. I'm looking at switching the downpipes out for the Spark decat pipes https://www.spark.it/en/exhaust/duca...-06-08/gdu8504 And adding these end cans from Mivv https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MONSTER-S...oAAOSwLydeV838 1. Do I need to get the ECU chipped, and can that still be done (anyone on here do that??) thinking just drop a DP Chip config on there 2. Do I need to worry about engine warning lights without the cat (like modern ducats with the butterfly valves cycling on start up) 3. Anyone done similar? I'll probably add performance filter too, do these monsters also benefit from changing the lid to be more open? Cheers |

The DP kits came with filter, open airbox and DP chip, so yeah I would. You don't need the chip as the DP map can be put onto your standard one, I believe Ducati dealer can do this for you or you go down the PCIII or Rexxer route. Talk to Neil at Cornerspeed and see what he recommends.
Those bits should work ok together or see if you can get a full Termi system which is probably better still in terms of performance.

Its not obvious from the photo but you need the holes for the lambda sensor for when you get the remap.
If you have a van you could chat with Dave at DWR Racing in Buckingham and leave the bike with him and collect a week later. Grumpy had his 1200R Rexxered Dave.

Cheers fellas.
Re lamba sensors, it looks like they have two plugs in the mivv cans. I’ll have another look. But the spark decat doesn’t seem to have any plugs |

You could probably do away the Lambdas, I doubt the Rexxer/DP Map would need them but not 100% sure on that.

You may find a cheaper one, that was the first one that showed in my search. I think there is a kit that has the blanking plugs included too, if you need those? Don't know the part number for that off hand but I saw Forza Moto have one on there but not sure what model it's for.

If you're not modifying the ECU but still want to remove the lambda, you'll need something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254488417208 |

have a word with Neil at Cornerspeed. He does a re-flash by post and I don't think he will charge anywhere near that for it.

It was a few years back now but, when Neil reflashed my Evo ECU, he had it back to me within the week and I had plenty of change from £250. |

Yea, I have a DP ECU in mine and it was rough and snatchy/lean at low revs, as they all are for emissions. He fitted my PCIII and custom mapped it on his dyno (he is within walking distance from me), a couple of hours work and although I can't remember exactly how much it cost it certainly didn't cost anywhere near £500. Most of his time and effort was spent on the dyno as he can fit PCIII in his sleep I expect.
I was very happy with the results of his work as it made a big difference, the fuel/air ratio chart was almost flat across the rev range and he said he could have spent another couple of hours getting it perfectly flat but the time and effort involved outstripped any benefit. It transformed the bike completly, so it was money well spent I think.

Rexxer is new to me. Is it a custom mapping solution on a dyno or is it a piggyback (like PC3) product where you upload pre done maps?
