UK Events and the Corona Virus
Guys, just a thought, we have a few events in the calendar that are looming on the horizon,Oakham being the first April 19th and Newby Hall at the end of May to name but two.
Can the event leaders check check with the organisers and post up the feedback, Gazza/BRD for these two. I suspect we know the answer but at least we will know if its a cancellation or postponement ! |

I will assume Oakham is still on unless I hear otherwise.
I will update the thread at least a week before the event in any case. Motorcycling is something that can still be done without contact with anyone, There's nothing wrong with meeting up at a pre-arranged point and having a ride out together. Just keep your helmet on at the meet point and stay a meter apart, avoiding too much chitty chatty and set off. You could even remain in the saddle until the nod for the set off comes. The ride might probably end at a petrol station where everyone would fill up and wave bye bye… Even a handshake or fist bump with gloved hands isn't going to pass much on. I am intending to have a ride or two when the warmth comes. maybe just to a petrol station and back (200 miles.. contactless transaction), perhaps with a foot down at a view point, maybe even a sip from a flask or bottle and onwards. In the mean time the forum is a godsend. Ride. Take pictures. post up and share. Nil Carbarundum..

Amen brother Gary. Could still be considered as non-essential travel though. Maybe they've got you there on that but I would argue that any travel on a Ducati is essential imho!

Who exactly is going to ask if your journey is essential or not if you're not stopping anywhere anyway.. After all, the destination will be home.
Still trying to make a conspiracy theory fit, as to why they want everyone stuck in their homes?
