https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_...ucts_id=453033 See what Moto Rapido quote for it and don't forget to ask for your discount. Alternatively, there are pattern coils here for £57.50 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ignition-...-/112136664745 But there's no indication of their provenance - if they're Chinese, then there are similar alternatives out there for a lot less again. (But would you trust them?) |

What kind of plug does the coil have, looks similar to my MZ coil and I get them for £20-30.

Was that for 38040031A or the alternative 38040031A-Z. Moto Rapido's prices are usually close to Stein Dinse's so I'd have expected them to be around £65 for 38040031A-Z including discount.

I spoke to Luke earlier and asked about this 'alternative' part no. 38040031A-Z and he said that's not actually a Ducati part no. His best guess was that it was just the number Stein Dinse had given it and it's most likely to be the Denso equivalent (as suggested by the 12900-4201 alternative number on the Stein Dinse page).

A quick check of the parts books for each model shows they share the same coil (38040031A) up to and including 2006. (The 2007 S4R is different.)
Put this address in your favourites as it's a quick and easy reference for parts books back to 2000 https://www.ducatiomaha.com/pages/ducati-oem-parts |
