Again, thanks for the input. The axle from an S4r looks like the one for these forks, I'll have to measure up again and check. The S2r calipers are the wrong ones as Darren69 mentioned, again the S4r calipers appear correct.
The mudguard is different as well as you say Darren, so I will have to source that along with a speedo drive, As Flip said I hope there are some cable driven ones around.

I have a cable drive for a speedo, I bought together with some wheels and other parts in a job lot. Let me know which one you are looking for, some identifying numbers or a pic etc It might be the one you need and it will be cheap. Comes with the cable.

Ok, Im looking at a front wheel now, part # (50120801AB) can anyone confirm this is the part I need to run with the 25mm axle?

I don't know what the parts list says but that number doesn't match anything that I can see on my original wheels .. from a yr2000 M750, with 25mm front spindle.

If you're looking at 3 spoke wheels then I think you want the later sort with spokes that get thinner towards the rim. Mine are like that anyway.
Earlier 3 spoke wheels had spokes which get fatter towards the rim.
Its a fair bet that the change in spoke design happened at the same time as the change to the bigger spindle ... though I can't say for absolute certain.

It’s my belief that the early (Spokes fatter at rim) and some later three spoke wheels (Spokes fatter at hub) are interchangeable provided you have the right axle, speedo drive bearings and spacer. Some later three spokes (Spokes fatter at hub) don’t have provision for a mechanical speedo drive (The speedo drive changed to electronic pick up from back wheel instead of mechanical cable drive).

I would spend some time checking out the bearing sizes.

You can certainly use the same rear wheel on thin & fat axle Monsters simply by using a bearing with a smaller ID and the correct inner spacer, would imagine the same is possible for the front?

St4 and M1000 uses 6005 2RSH on front. SKF Single row deep groove ball bearing with two rubber seals 25mm inside x 47mm outside x 12mm width

M900 used 20mm inside x 47mm outside x 14mm width, so you may need to find some 14mm wide alternatives to the 6005?

It is possible to fit an early mudguard on later fork legs.
You need a pair of ally/stainless strips with three holes. The lower mudguard mounting screw goes through the strip into the top fork leg hole, the upper mudguard mounting screw goes through the top of the strip to a washer and locknut, and the bottom of the strip is bolted to the lower fork leg mount.
More discreet when putting late mudguard on early forks as the strip is wholly hidden by the mudguard.

Both my bikes have the five spoke Marchesini's which do look rather nice, maybe a future upgrade to add to the list?

Thanks guys, this is going to need some research, if I can swap bearings for a 25mm id with the 14mm thickness I can use the old wheel which will save some money. Bloody bikes!!!

I would see if I could get hold of the 25mm axle, speedo drive, spacers and nut, then measure exactly what’s going on?
