Nonnie's Monster
In preparation for WDW2016 and since the bike is long overdue a proper restoration, I decided to strip down Nonnie's bike for a complete ground up rebuild, Pressure is on though as it's got to be ready to roll by the end of June. You can follow the rebuild here, as it saves me posting on several forums.

I would Rob but it's already stripped down to pretty much the last nut and bolt. Got to get a wiggle on though as there is a heap of stuff to do and lots of corroded parts to repair/replace or make good, all within the next 12 weeks.

I wrote a ditty about Nonnie's bike some years ago. It got good reviews from the critics, I seem to remember.....................
I couldn't do a job like that in any time period let alone 12 weeks. Very impressive! |

Maybe you should make a series a la James May's "The Assembler"?

The engine should be going back into the newly painted frame within a week Everything else is ready to go. All I have got left to source are some new brake/clutch levers, a few seals, spherical bearings, filler cap and re-fit the fuel pump to the tank and I'm looking at another two weeks to complete it. The engine is going to be test run at Carl Harrison's for three minutes, then the oil and filter will get dumped for fresh stuff. This is to preclude any chance of any remains of the blasting media being left inside, although the cases were cleaned and flushed numerous times before the guts went back in. Best to be safe than sorry.

Inching closer to re-assembly now. Six weeks in and about 90% of the prep is done. More info on the FB link.

Well almost there. Lots of pictures and descriptions on the FB page but here are a few of the latter stages of the build. Now almost twelve weeks in from the start and about 99% complete. MOT next week and I'm done!!
