I will probably be a day tripper as well, Gary. We can ride down together if you fancy?

I'd be up for that Grumpy...Thinking along the lines of a very early start on Sunday at the moment, but a long way ahead for final plans..we might pick up some other East Anglians too?

It's funny you should say that Alan...
Not entirely sure that we are strong enough in this area to run a Weekender...But y' never know. (Let me get one under my belt) I had been growing thoughts of an "Alternative" Weekender as an extra date on the UKMOC calendar. Maybe at the other end of the Summer, say September? The principal of the idea would be to get a hotel out of the equation, but how to do that without resorting to camping eludes me so far...There are plenty of B&Bs and static caravan parks out this way which reduce their rate considerably after the school holidays....So..?? Maybe... Well it's not quite 2016 yet!! |

Maybe we could join forces ? I already have the option of a good live band lined up, as well as the use of a large marquee and PA and lighting rigs, if that kind of caper could be on the cards. Though whether it should be an extra event or simply a different take on the normal weekender is still an open question. |

That's brilliant, great if you could take on 2016 !
I would say stick to May for weekender as September quite a few people are off to Belgium for the MOB weekend. But of course all open to discussion. PS - Can we keep this post for 2015, we can PM each other to talk about 2016. Thanks Last edited by alan c; 22-11-2014 at 01:18 PM.. |

Okay Utopia.! Sperm meets Egg and an idea starts to snowball.
I will think about this a bit more over the coming months, my ideas are very embryonic at the moment...Really need to see what the weekender is all about before going mad. I would prefer to offer something a bit different to the Weekender but not to compete with it or change it...Must be mindful not to clash with the Belgium rally as you say.. Ooops .. yes another thead required..!! |
