Sorry I didn't spot any of you to say hello - we'd hooked up with the Sussex contingent and didn't arrive until about 1pm-ish... By lunchtime the traffic was mental on the way into Lyndhurst and Beaulieu too - thank goodness we were all on bikes eh? xxx |
Ok, what is so special about the 888 (don't shout all at once!).[/QUOTE
To start with its an awesome looking bike! But i was gobsmacked how good the clutch/gearbox work (so smooth and precise) the brakes match most modern bikes to date! but the noise of the induction and the power delivery is the biggest suprise, for a 15+ year old bike that was a totally amazing ride...Just a shame about the race rearsets for me! my knees and groin aren't flexi enough (too many bad landings and getting caught in some damn ambushes!!) bugger - that didnt work - i'll ask pedro to post up the article if anyone wants a read.
Remember - the monster chassis was a direct evolution of the 888 chassis (the first M900's were basically the same) - thats why they handle so well.. ;>) ! |
Hi Dave - yes, twas I... in fact we'd only just arrived, I turned round and there was a guy crouching down taking photos - guess that was you then?!
Hi J Mo, wasn't me taking photos, if I'd seen you I'd have said hello then grilled you with a hundred questions like "where did you get this bit..." who made that..." "how did you do such and such.." etc. Love the bike though... Cheers Dave |
