You'll find the answer to all your questions if you do a search for "tail" and "chop".
But try this one for size!! I did!!
And so have a few others I think......

For the Shift-tech tail you DO cut the tail off!
About 85mm if I remember correctly.
Its a much much shorter version than the carbon dp job.

Do you still have the DP tail?

I've just ordered a Tail Chop Kit from Competition Werkes.

http://secure.compwerkes.com/Detail.bok?no=299

I couldn't find a stockist here so I've had to order it from the States.

Will let you know what it's like when it arrives.

Here you go then, it's a work in progress rather than the finished article though...

The Comp Werkes kit would have been perfect out of the box if I were re-using the standard tail light & numberplate light, but as I've fitted a Foxtail integrated tail/numberplate light, I'm having to make a spacer to move the light rearwards otherwise it doesn't illuminate the numberplate.

Mine cost £7.04p

A packet of coco pops, mmmm coco pops

Step one
Eat coco pops

Step Two
Cut tail off bike, cut coco pops packet into right shape for bracket.

Step Three
Take coco pops packet template to local fabricator.
Crust - "got an off cut I could cut that out of?"
Metal working chappie "you want it in stainless?"
Crust - "ooh, mmm shiny"
Mwc - "there you go mate, you want it cut to shape?"
Crust - "shiny, erm yes."

A few minutes later

Crust "There you go my good fellow, buy your self a refreshing pint."

A couple of minutes later back in the garage

Ta Dah

cheapy shiny non-rusting type tail chop

They're well made (stainless), but I sprayed mine black as I don't do "shiney".

As I wasn't using the stock tail & number plate lights I had to fabricate a spacer to move the tail light rearwards.

Whether your number plate will fit or not is down to the size of plate you've got - I don't do tea-tray plates either - I run 7x5" plate & I would have thought that that should fit between the Termi's fine.
