M600 Fuel Tank!
I know...I know...hen's teeth...but if you don't ask, you don't get.
My tank is pretty much knackered on the inside, 3 1/2 years in storage has corroded it. Tried cleaning, flushing, blowing it out etc etc etc. But to no avail. So I think I'm going to have to get another one, such a pain in the arse as it's the last thing I need to finish my project off From a 2000 dark edition. So if anyone has one that'll fit, not massively bothered if its good nick on the outside as I can sort that. Just needs to be clean inside. Thanks in advance! Hello again Max.
You could try some Bilt Hamber Deox-c. I bought some on recommendation, but haven't tried it yet. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bilt-Hamb...4383.l4275.c10 Alternatively you could try filling it with White vinegar, (probably watered down a bit, but I don't know the recommended solution). Leave it in for about a week, followed by a rinse out with clutch and brake cleaner which will chase out any remaining water. Failing that there is a tank repair specialist in Reepham that I could put you in touch with. He knows how to clean them inside. There's no guarantee that another tank will be any better especially if you buy it blind on ebay or whatever. Where have you moved too? Still in the Swaffham area? The photo looks vaguely like Kimberly?

I've used the stuff from tankcure.nl, spent days cleaning the crap out of it, then anti-rust formula, then cleaner, dried it thoroughly then thought I was doing a decent job by sealing it, apparently not so it's current sat with epoxy remover in it That would be good if you could mate, get a quote off him and would save me replacing it. It's the original tank too and the colour suits lol. I'm at Henlow in Central Beds now. Moved here last year to suit the job... |
