Leaking Tank

I have a tank leak at the hinge plate

I've been reading through all the previous threads/posts and it seems one or two of you have experienced this problem, and solved it in different ways. Some folks have suggested welding/brazing, whilst others think that a coating of Petseal, POR-15 or something similar is sufficient.

I'm considering going down the brazing route, then treating it with POR-15.

Has anyone else had the plate brazed? I'm just after some opinions...good idea or not? Anything special I need to do to prep etc?

Any advice as always would be greatly appreciated.
