Smile New biker and now a Monster owner

Hi folks
I'm new to biking passed my accelerated DAS September last year and bought a Yamaha xj6s.
Turned out to be too big and heavy so I stopped riding :-(
A few weeks ago I sat on a Monster 696 for the first time and realised Ducati were kind enough to make a bike especially for small people :-)
Yesterday I let the Divvy go and picked up my Monster, for the last 30 hours I have done nothing but smile :-D

Hi there Dinkybiker, welcome to the Club and forum. Check out all the meetings in the regions announcement area, we always have plenty going on. Did I see you on the A350 near Chippenham yesterday?

Hi Dinky

I'm also new to this riding business and am the proud owner of a Monster 796 - my first bike. I spent ages just opening the garage, looking at her, smiling and closing the garage ... trust me, the grinning won't go for a while yet Still getting used to the weight and height (yep, i'm a tiddler too) but how much fun are they !!

I don't think you saw us, but there were three Monsters coming towards you. Two S4Rs' and a Tri Colore M600!

Welcome to the club, I'm a short a**e rider too I did 900 miles since I passed my test and collected the bike 3 weeks ago, it's insane... And here's me thinking "oh I won't commute on it, it will be just pleasure rides..." peh !

Last week I spent the Saturday with police riders from Warwickshire Bike Safe initiative, best £50 I ever spent, I cannot recommend it enough for a fellow novice M696 rider. I think they run workshops all over the country.

All the best, have fun, be safe !

Evening all,
Still grinning :-D
I took Desi, yup he has a name now, straight off to Weston S M after picking him up on Sunday.
We had a ball going down the M4/M5, blimey need to keep an eye on the speedo, how come it's so easy to go fast on my Monster compared to the Divvy?

Even happy to be out riding him in the dark. So happy about my new bike, was really worried I'd lost it all when I had the Divvy :-(, but I get that fizzy feeling whenever I think about him and I just want to be riding it all the time.

Sorry Rally, I wouldn't have a clue what your bike looks like (I'll go and stand in the corner with a Ducati catalogue) :-) I don't think I'll be difficult to miss as my Monster is Lilac :-D not my choice, I got him second had, but I love it anyway.

Pasha they do bike safe here in Wilts too, not had the time this year but will do it next year when it comes round again.

They do Bikesafe in Devizes a few times each year, free of charge as well. Check out dates on the bikesafe website.

I've got Colin Reeves email address somewhere, (he co-ordinates the Wilts bike safe), might just pester him to find out when the next lot are due to start.
