Electrex world pickup coil

Hi all
Bit of advice please
Has any one used the above on their monster? if so any info?

Lost spark on rear pot and narrowed it down to pick up gone open circuit.
Ordered new from above and fitted but misses badly on tickover and spark fails immediately revs rise.
The new p/u coil has a different resistance value to the o/e coils so thats why I m enquiring if any one has used these?

I have changed the cdi units, coils, leads etc over but fault stays the same on the rear pot ie p/u coil ?
I will call Electrex ...may have to get an o/e coil....depending on UKMOC info !
thanksin advance
Dave

By leads you've changed them from the pickup end onwards or bridged out the loom entirely?
There is a huge commanality with the ignition systems although they did toss in some odd changes mostly to the ignitors, Ducati changed them. These might be sensitive to a higher resistance as the induction circuit won't charge up enough. This would give you the increased problems as the revs rise.
Check it with electek first off.

i bought a pair of these for mine.
they advanced the timing to such a degree that the engine ran like the choke was fully open and then cut out.
got 2 here if you want them cheap but i suggest you go for ducatis own.
cost me over £300 when if i had gone ducati it would have cost me under £200, that does include my trusted mechanics fee too!

I have one in mine.
Timing is out but i thought that was just me cos my timing light broke so i guessed.

Its £145 plus vat for the ducati coils which is both on a bracket.

or About £50 for the electrex world ones

the work at 450 ohms instead or the 100 ish the ducati ones do.

But that shouldnt cos a problem

Thanks for your replys
Basically , three of us bought the pattern p/ups and only one person happy !
One my genuine p/up thats working I get 99.4 ohms on meter
on the electrex one I read .423 ohms either reading it wrong or out of spec !

Mr Anf, is it poss to get an ohm value on your pick ups at all?...please .

Mr Alreadyinuse, like me you fitted one, BUT yours works !
Could you also give me a reading from the plastic plug/black box end
Electrex p/up came with brown and white wires that were too short and no indication of which went to the original black and yellow ?
I joined the black to brown and the yellow to white ( possible increase in resistance through join )
I have not swapped them over for fear of killing the black box, would any of you know if it would be safe to do so?
From your info so far, either my new p/up is u/s or my wires are crossed!
Many thanks for all your help and time,
cheers Dave
