Rant rant

Why do people say they want to buy something from you ....?

exact quote

"I can send money today. No messing"

So you tell others it has been provisionally sold.

Then the first person comes back and tries to get you to cut the cost.
I wouldn't care if I was asking extortionate prices, but £25 for some lovely carbon goodies is a bargain!

GGgggrrrr

it really gets my goat!

If you are not prepared to pay the asking price tell the seller in the first place, not after you have said you will have it!

we're not all the same

I had some jerk offer me half the asking price for an item i had on ebay.
I told him i'd rather throw it in the skip than have the p1ss taken out of me

I am afraid I am of a similar opinion.

I asked a fair price and have had a lot of interest in the items I am selling. In a couple of weeks time I might have been prepared to barter, but I will not be made a fool of.

Name and shame Anne.

There is nothing wrong in offering a price you would be willing to pay for something then let the seller make a choice upfront but to say you will pay a price and ask the seller to remove the item from sale and then try to barter is not on. As you said the bits you're selling are going to be a bargain for the buyer but people will still want to get them for next to nothing.

By the way when you've had that hyper watsit for a couple of weeks and have gotten fedup with it i'll take it off your hands for £50 just to do you a favour mind

Thanks for letting me know the offer for the Hypermotard (or "Moto-retard" as my daughter calls it) in advance squffy - I appreciate the fact that you did not just say you would buy it and THEN offer me £50 - that would have been an insult

I don't think I will name him - now I have had my rant I am happy.
A couple of other people were interested in the bits so I am sure they will sell.

I am sure you will be inundated with pics next week when I get it although from what I have seen of your bike that's quite special anyway.
