Lower handlebars for a 620?
If possible I fancy fitting some lower handlebars, only say an inch or so, has anyone fitted any lower handlebars to their 620 and can please recommend a pair.
I know that my standard handlebars have little locator holes for the brake and clutch assembly drilled into them, do replacement bars come pre-drilled? Would I run into problems with the bars hitting the tank with them being lower? Thanks. |

I have just put some Renthal ultra low bars on my M900ie, lovely quality and just slightly lower than stock. Mine are black so match my frame, but can get them in any colour. However, they do not come pre-drilled, so take quite a time to get right. Mine has 4 holes to drill! Kev

Presume they are the same diameter as the standard bars? Are they any wider/narrower? Do you have any problem with the bars hitting the tank? Thanks, could you post a link to your thread. |

UltraLow are very similar in shape to stock 620 bars, a fraction higher at the ends,
they won't hit the tanks and stock cables will fit. They are 7/8". explanation here http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/s...ad.php?t=19017 That said, I've just fitted a pair to my M1000. I don't think they'll be lower than your standard bars, anything that is will foul the tank unless a. it has less pull-back b. you reduce the lock stop. |

Ok, thanks, so looks like I have to stick with the standard bars then.

Obviously not sure about the 620, but my Renthals are a little lower and narrower than my stock ones on M900 and do not get near the tank. Personally I think the small change has made a significant difference to the riding position, for the better and look far better. I think the reduced weight is better as well, I have Oberon bars end weights, alloy colour. But, we all have our preference, thats why we are bikers. All individual!! Kev

Why not come down to the London meet, 1st Saturday of the month in Docklands, you can take a look at my bars and make a decision based on seeing them. I agree with Kev, they certainly look better than standard.

Thanks everyone, I’ll wait until I can see a pair on a bike first then. Saturday 4th April would have been fine but the bike is in at the garage having some work done that day for a couple of weeks. So I’ll pencil it in for 2nd May and that way the bike ‘project’ will be finished (he says) and I’ll be able to show it off.
