Good news... I'm still alive.. Hurray

So, after my diy last week I've been out for a spin over Ashbourne, and everything seems fine that I've and my hands on except for the brakes.
They make a grinding grinding noise, more so on the rear, and at low speed ie when coming to a stop.

Should I ignore it and carry on? They function as they are supposed to.

Also, there us a weird "woowing" noise... I have no idea where it's coming from, but seems more noticeable when you come off the throttle.
??

They shouldn't make any grinding noises- is there any evidence of abnormal contact on the discs themselves?

As with anything safety related it would be prudent to find the cause before riding again as the consequences don't really bear thinking about.

People's surprise that it's all back together perhaps?

Sorry, a little harsh maybe but I couldn't resist

No, grinding is not good. Something not right. I wouldn't ride it again until you find out what the problem is.

Ha ha flip. I was even more surprised. I really don't trust myself. The neighbors must of thought I'd got a new electric bike... Normally I'm BRRAAAAPPPPPP BRAAAPPPPP.

It seems safe(ish). I'm not really sure what the problem might be. I might just loosen and refasten everything brake related :-/

It may seem safe until it suddenly doesn't.

Brakes are not something to take a Darwinian approach to.

Experiments could end badly.

I also have a similar sound Davkyt, the wooing you describe. No idea what it is either but also seems to be off throttle. More noticeable when blipping the throttle at idle.

It was there before. It just seems more noticeable now...

The only thing I can think it might be is perhaps the rear brake carrier is not 100% square to the wheel. I'm going
to slacken the wheel later, give the carrier a bit of a jimmy and see if that fixes it.

Also the pads were looser than I expected... But I have no idea how loose "normal" is..

I have found the wooing noise.

It's the brake pads lightly touching the disc....

I guess I'll just have to deal with it

It could just be the carrier bobbins sticking - brake cleaner and old toothbrush then rotate them

Round things in the front disc

Fit between the outer rim and inner carrier

Probably about 10 of them (guess)
