What the?
I saw this today at East Kirkby.
Unfortunately this is the only photo I managed to get, as I bumped into someone I knew and got talking before I could have a proper look at the bike and take more pictures. It begs many questions and does look very clever in places, but maybe not so in others, like the gaiters over the fork legs! Although I think that is to try and achieve a more dated classic look perhaps? I don't know what the frame is Early gixxer perhaps? The engine is also very mysterious and I think it may be parts of many engines. It has dry clutch, finned valve covers, mechanical rev counter drive and ally belt covers. Difficult to even say what size it is as I don't think that a 900 engine ever had the ally belt covers and I don't think that a 750 had a dry clutch on those shaped crankcases? Can anyone identify any bits? If you click on the picture it will open it in another window that you can zoom in on.

The frame looks very Spondon like to me, reminds me of the beam frames they made where the main spars met in front of a floating headstock tube.

I’ll hazard a guess thats a 750 with a windowed clutch conversion but have no idea what the frame is.

Looks like a special that Fireman Sam ( Paul) once had, I recognise the paint on the tank and the sports motorcycles of Manchester sticker on the fairing. I will drop him a text to see if he wouldn’t mind giving us the back story…..

Well done Nasher, you nailed in one.. The whole story.
I thought the belt covers looked a bit on the long side and I'm sure they never fitted a 900, so I'm glad that's been sorted. Very interesting project. I'd bin the belly pan if I had my way, but I would always do things differently to someone else. It did rather pop though as interesting bikes go.
