Daft Question - Colour Swap

Assume there’s no reason why I can’t swap the yellow tank/fairing/seat cowl from my 900sie onto my S4R if I fancied a change?

compare the undersides of the tanks.
it’s possible (i’m not sure) that the s4r airbox needs a little more space.

It’s a 2000 900sie versus an ‘04 S4R.

I’ll have to pull the tanks and take a look

The frames are different on those two, but the thing that's going to be the issue is the airbox as Slob pointed out. The lumps and bumps are in different places. Battery is laydown in the S4R and upright on your 900Sie. The S4R airbox will have more volume further forward than the 900.
The electrical connector to the fuel pump and fuel level sender will need to match too, but not a biggie.

Fuel pump connector should be the same as common even on plastic tanks but the cut out on the seat is different I believe where it fits round the tank from 888 frame to 620, S2R and S4R frames.
