Newbie with an Old Monster

Hello,

I've been lurking too long but have finally taken the plunge.

My Monster is an early (May 94) M600 in yellow, which I have owned since 2001. The tea-tray was cut off the following year and a few years later I fitted a set of old ace-bars as an experiment; I liked them so I never took them off again.

It was my only bike until 2007 when I bought my 998. The Monster was last on the road in 2009 and was taken of the road due to a leaking fork seal. It sat for a few years until I started stripping it down in September 2011. I made plans, which involved Candy Apple Red paint and Airbrushing, but the project never really gained any momentum and lay untouched until August last year.

I discovered last year, from one of John Falloon's lists, that only 18 yellow M600s were brought into the UK in 1994 and at that point I realised I couldn't change that, so basically I'm keeping it close to original while retaining the ace-bars and tail-chop. The rebuild is still on going and I work on it when I can. I'm not in a hurry, I'm just taking my time and, hopefully, getting it right.
