Ministry of funny runs

I wonder if people on here will be laughting at them or with them?

I thought it was funny, although I do have a ridiculous sense of humour, and personally don't have an issue with them goofing around like everyone does occasionally at work in a spare 5 mins. They aren't neccessarily the ones responsible for wasting the taxpayers money and 'not catching real criminals' and at least they aren't wasting their time pulling people over for pointless and inflammatory reasons. After all, sometimes they are *gasp* normal people/bikers getting paid to ride all day. Its just when the uniform makes them act in a way that everyone is familiar with...

Im not sure why I felt the need to say that and Im sure i'll get flamed for it

edit: by the time I finished typing that I noticed slob had written about being a taxpayer. I began writing this when it was only nonnies post and didnt see the other replies until i had posted mine, so what i said was not in repsonse to other people remarks. Im not sure why I felt the need to say that, either.

Yup it's nice to see they're "normal". I'm sure the wasters in Whitehall will be comforted to know they are in safe hands. It's a pity the road rats aren't as amusing.

I thought they were sweet for want of a better word. I thought it was funny as they were over excited at getting a new piece of technology. And why not?

I went to work Friday checking child car seats in Asda car park of all places. We often have the fire brigade with the engine come along because by ourselves we are not glamorous and I got to sit in the fire engine and be an excited little kid with a new toy for 10 minutes so I can appreciate their sentiment. And trust me, I was a complete kid. What happens if I push this? Why does it do that? What happens if I let go of this? Why does that do that? It were chuffing brilliant.

Don't let elf and safety hear you, they've banned firemen allowing people in their engines, can't remeber if it was because they may get hurt or whether it was children because of the paedo thing. So did you get a chance to hose anyone down?

They wouldn't even let me play with the siren. Did you know it's actually an extra pedal next to the brake? And there is an airhorn button on the floor under the drivers feet too. I tell you, I had such a ball. They had to go off to a call out and I've never seen things move so quickly. Six sets of trousers attached to 6 sets of boots came flying out, they jumped in to them and jumped back into the engine and they were gone. In about 10 seconds flat. Very professional.

That sounds like my mate Gary Asbo! And he's been a fireman for 4 years
