Tom Tom Rider; 2nd edition??
Anyone use one of these? Apparently it comes with UK maps but Euro maps can be added? Is this the case?

I use my Tomtom 530T, and have just purchased the Ram mount for handle bar and the yoke stem mount (for the R1) it then goes in the Ram Aqua Box which is totally waterproof with touch screen. Test ran it yesterday and it worked a treat. Just another option!!

There are two versions of the product, a regional (UK only) and a Europe one (Western Europe only). I bought the TomTom Rider Europe 2nd Edition in October last year and used it when I rode my Monster to Greece. Worked brilliantly and the helmet connection is very helpful. Also worth adding the safety camera alerts application (works outside the UK too and saved me a fortune in Switzerland). Expensive as it may be, I believe it is a worthwhile investment, especially if you buy the car mounting kit as Half Pint suggested, to make the most of it.

Got an old XL (not the IQ) which has bluetooth,
navcore 8.4 that allows to connect to any bluetooth stereo headset available (Samsung SBH650 in my case), and some waterproof case for PDA's or PNA's, Europe maps and safety camara alerts. I'd say that there is no handsfree phone function in my setup, but would have to check. Costs all together not even half of the price TomTom asks for the rider and is able to do the same and the bigger screen helps to hit the right 'button' on the touchscreen. |

I run a Garmin 255w that came with full european mapping for £85.00, it doesn't have bluetooth nor is it waterproof, There's a little graphic that shows you what your next turn is so a quick glance is all you need. RAM produce a motorcycle mount for it very cheaply (mounts off one of the handle bar clamp bolts)I think it cost £40 and a permanant power supply £12.00. Its great, easy to use and I just stick a clear sandwich bag over it if it looks like it might rain.
