CRMC Brands Hatch

Another visit to Brands for me this weekend (7th & 8th May), this time for some classic action with the CRMC.

Around twenty races per day with motorcycles ranging from the mid 1940's through to late '80's including the Lansdowne Championship, so think anything from old Rudge and Velocette's to Goldstars and early GSX-R's. Plus Sidecars and 350 GP machines.

The weather's looking good so it'll be some close racing on the Indy Circuit for sure.

Takes me back to the late 70's sitting on the banking at Brands watching VMRC races, two riders in particular come to mind Steve Lindsel on his Royal Endfield Bullet leaving the pukka cammy racers in his wake and Eric Oliver on his Norton single outfit, geeze he was so consistent every lap identical. Happy days & great memories.

Yup that's the man, pleasant chap as I remember. I'm thinking his day job was maintaining garden machinery, some pretty nippy lawn mowers I dare say.

Ha Ha! Not sure about lawn mowers but he's the proprietor of family owned Yamaha dealership Flitwick Motorcycles and still around the Classic paddocks with his beloved Enfields as both his sons Ollie and Dave race (I know Dave through a racing friend), with Ollie being the more focussed and successful on both short circuits aboard the Enfield and a Paton for the Classic TT but he also races modern machines too- he even got a few laps round Donington on an ex-Loris Capriossi Moto GP Desmosedici when I last raced there in 2015.
