torque settings please
This is for a 1995 M900 , would anyone have torque settings for the hex plug in the side of the crankcase with the mesh filter behind it and the allen bolts in the near rectangular valve inspection covers ? Recommendations would be fine if there aren't any published numbers. Also the only torque setting I can find in the Haynes manual for the drain plug is 42 nm. Does that sound right ?
Thanks .

Lodger, check out the thread "Follow the Lady?" as this very subject is discussed briefly on there. There are a couple of other threads on here that deal with the sump plug figure of 42 nm. I have a manual that suggests 10 nm for the valve covers, but I prefer to estimate (guess) it using an allen key to tighten them

Dacs thanks for the warning .42 nm is clearly too high. I'll go for 20 nm on the sump and see how 10 nm feels for the valve inspection cover
